Terms and liability

What we do

Ship Bolivia transports suitcases and parcels between the United States and Bolivia. We depart from Miami and arrive in Santa Cruz, and in the other direction from Santa Cruz to Miami. From those two cities we forward onward by BOA cargo, by bus, or by UPS.

By booking a shipment you accept these terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, message us before handing anything over.

Quotes and final price

What the calculator on this site gives you is an estimate. The final price is set when we weigh your shipment on our scale, and we confirm it with you before dispatch.

Last-mile charges within Bolivia are billed in bolivianos and converted to dollars at the exchange rate in effect on the invoice date. That rate is published on the pricing page.

We never charge more than the scale says. If it weighs less than you declared, you pay less.

How and when you pay

You pay after weigh-in, once you know the exact amount. We don't charge anything up front to hold your space.

We accept Zelle in the United States and QR payment in bolivianos in Bolivia. We send you the payment details on WhatsApp along with the amount. We never publish them on the site: if you see one of our account numbers anywhere else, it isn't ours.

We don't release a shipment that hasn't been paid.

What we don't carry

There is a list of items we don't carry in either direction, at any price. It's published on the prohibited items page and forms part of these terms.

If we find something from that list in your shipment, we remove it. Depending on what it is, we may cancel the entire shipment and, where appropriate, notify the authorities.

Shipments from Bolivia to the United States

In this direction we don't accept sealed packages from anyone. You send us a list of what you need, we purchase the items with a receipt, and those items are what travel.

It's a rule without exceptions, and it exists so this service can't be useful to drug trafficking. We don't negotiate it with anyone, no matter how well we know them.

We quote the cost of the goods and the cost of shipping separately. We only buy once you approve. If you cancel after we've purchased, the goods are yours and we charge you for them.

We inspect shipments

We reserve the right to open and inspect any shipment before dispatch, without prior notice. It isn't distrust: it's the only way we can answer for what goes on the plane.

Your declaration of contents

When you book, you tell us what's inside and what it's worth. That declaration is your responsibility and it's the basis for everything else: the quote, what we declare at customs, and what we answer for if something happens.

If the contents don't match what was declared, we don't answer for loss or damage to that shipment, and any costs the problem creates are yours.

Liability and limits

We answer for loss of or damage to the contents you declared, while the shipment is in our possession, up to the declared value and capped at $300 per suitcase and $100 per parcel.

If you're sending something worth more than that, tell us beforehand and we'll agree separate coverage in writing. Without that agreement, the cap above applies.

We don't answer for: damage caused by your own poor packing, fragile items you didn't tell us were fragile, normal spoilage of food or perishables, items on the prohibited list, customs holds, or indirect losses such as lost profit or the sentimental value of something.

Any claim must be made within 7 days of delivery, with photos and your tracking code.

Timelines and delays

The flight dates we publish are the ones we plan on and we meet them whenever we can, but they aren't a guarantee of delivery on an exact date.

We don't answer for delays outside our control: airline changes, customs inspections, weather, road blockades, strikes, or anything else beyond us. If something like that happens, we tell you as soon as we know.

Customs and duties

Any taxes, duties or fines charged by customs at destination are the recipient's responsibility and are not included in what you pay us.

If a shipment is held at customs, we do what we can to release it, but the decision isn't ours.

Pickup and storage

When your shipment is ready for pickup we let you know. You have 15 days to collect it at no cost. After that we charge $2 per day of storage.

A shipment left uncollected and unanswered for 60 days is considered abandoned, and we may dispose of it to cover what is owed.

Last mile with third parties

When your shipment goes beyond Santa Cruz or Miami, it travels with BOA cargo, a bus line, or UPS. We choose reputable carriers and give you the tracking number.

From the moment we hand it to the carrier, responsibility for loss or damage lies with that company and is governed by their own terms. We'll help you with the claim, but we can't answer for what happens on that leg.

Cancellations

You can cancel at no cost as long as the batch hasn't closed and we haven't dispatched. Once it has travelled, the freight isn't refunded.

For shipments from Bolivia to the United States, if you cancel after we've purchased the goods, those goods are charged to you regardless.

Your data

We store your name, phone, email and addresses solely to run your shipments and contact you. We don't sell or share them with anyone, apart from what must be declared to the airline or customs.

The tracking link we send you is private. It stops showing details 30 days after delivery.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your shipment is the one published on the day you booked, and the last updated date is always shown below.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States.
